Travelling by Train or Bus
We are about a 10 minute walk from the railway station. Most buses stop at Rougier Street, Blossom Street or the Railway Station.
Travelling by Car
Approaching York from the North via the A19
From the A19 turn right at the traffic lights at Clifton Green. Cross over Clifton Bridge and keep straight on through the 1st set of lights. At the 2nd set, turn left into Poppleton Road. Follow the road into the town centre. Turn left at the end of Holgate Road and follow (all routes).
Approaching York from the South and West via the A64
From the A64 take the exit signed York West A1036, then turn left at the first traffic lights, pass York College and take the A1036 to the city centre. Keep going straight ahead and follow (all routes).
Approaching York from the A59
Go straight on at the roundabout located just after Wyevale Garden Centre and follow Poppleton Road into the town centre. At the lights at the end of Holgate Road, turn left and follow (all routes).
All routes then...
As you approach the city walls turn right for a pay car park on Nunnery Lane or turn left for a cheaper one close to the railway station on Queen Street, next to Fleetways taxi office. Walk back to the traffic lights and through the medieval archway called Micklegate Bar. The College is 300 yards along Micklegate in a Georgian terrace on the right hand side of the road.
Please allow enough time to fi nd a parking space. York can be very busy, especially on days when there is a racing fixture. Further details and location of other public car parks are available at www.york.gov.uk/parking.
Park and Ride Scheme
The most convenient scheme for getting to the College operates from Tesco on Tadcaster Road (A1036). The buses run every 6 minutes from 7.20am to 7.35pm Monday to Saturday. The average journey time on a busy day is eleven minutes from Tesco to the city centre. Alight at George Hudson Street, cross the road and head up Micklegate to no 61. To return, pick up the bus on Blossom Street or Rougier Street.
